Building a web site is a function of preparation. . .
The more pre-planning you do, the easier, faster, and cheaper the
actual process becomes. There are clients who come to us having done
considerable research and given a lot of thought to exactly why they
want a web site and what they want it to be like. These clients
might even provide us with a very detailed request for proposal
(RFP).
More often, though, our clients know they want a web site, or
that they want to improve the web site they have, but they don't
really know what direction they want to go in. They don't have a
clear idea of what the web can do for them and they haven't
really researched the competition and standards in their field.
We enjoy the opportunity of helping a company discover what its
internet strategy should be. These are some of the things we will
cover when we help you develop yours:
YOUR BUSINESS
We start by learning about your business, your
market, your customers and competitors. Then we review your current
marketing efforts and your short and long term goals for your
business.
YOUR COMPETITION
The next step we
follow is to turn to the internet and begin looking at the web sites
of your competition. What are they doing with their sites? How well
are they doing in the search engines? What other sites are linking
to their sites? YOUR VISION
Next, we
work with you to develop a "wish list" —
if they were no budgetary other other constraints, what would you
like your site to look like and do? Based on our experience, we make
suggestions at this point that we feel would add value to the site.
THE WORKING PLAN
Now taking any
constraints — cost, timing,
priorities — into consideration,
we put together a comprehensive plan detailing our findings and
recommendations. We identify the different options and offer an
explanation of each. We cover both short and long term options and
recommendations so that the plan is useful for the present and well
into the future. |
